Established on 1938 after the merger of the European Club and Lagos Golf Club, Ikoyi Golf Club is one of the oldest sport clubs in Nigeria.

Long after the amalgamation of the European Club and the Lagos Golf Club, the Ikoyi Club 1938 remained essentially an “expatriates club” run by top European civil servants and members of the business communities.

The Ikoyi Club 1938 has metamorphosed from its European only membership into one of the best examples of multiracial clubs in the world with membership drawn worldwide.

Located in Ikoyi, the modern-day Ikoyi Club 1938 is a private member family club and it occupies an enviable area of approximately 456 acres of land and provides first class facilities for about 10, 000 members.

Ikoyi Golf Club Course

The Ikoyi Club Golf course is a par 71 course made up of 18 holes, totalling 5838 meters in length. Each hole is portrayed by unique features such as sand traps, fairway bunkers, water and huge trees. The course is located in the centre of a residential area and provides a perfect getaway from the everyday hustle and bustle of Lagos City life.

Golfers can benefit from the Driving range plus putting and chipping practice facilities. The club has several resident pros that are available to help the beginners or the more competent golfers. The Clubhouse is a buzz of activity throughout the week and is a great place for networking and meeting people.

Ikoyi Golf Club Facilities

The main facilities at this popular Lagos golf club comprise a reception area, large symmetrical hall known as the Rotunda (where formal Club events take place) which overflows into the Patio Bar.

Other facilities include an expansive lounge that house a medium sized dancing floor and a roomy bar named the main bar, a well equipped Kitchen with its own internal convenience, changing room and a kitchen administrative office occupied by the chef.

Ikoyi Golf Club is about 10 minutes from Victoria Island, the commercial centre of Nigeria, and about 45 minutes drive from Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

Bars and Kitchens

The club has a main kitchen that serves hot meals and assorted snacks and sandwiches from 12 noon to 12 Midnight. Breakfast is served between 8:00am and 10:00am at the Rotunda. There are also Kitchens to the new and old swimming pools, lawn tennis bar and golf section bar for snacks.

There is a club restaurant serving international dishes open for lunch and dinner. All bars are opened from 7:30am to 11:00pm with the exception of the Cads bar which opens from 6:00pm to 4:00am daily and the Main bar which opens till 2:00am at weekends.

The following bars are available in the club:
Main Bar, Squash Hall Bar, Cads Bar, Lawn Tennis Bar, Patio Bar, Table Tennis Bar, Suya/Hut Bar, Golf House Bar, New Swimming Pool Bar, Badminton Hall Bar and Old Swimming Pool Bar.

Magazine Shop

You can check out the news agent in the club premises. This shop sells international newspapers and magazines, cards, books, comics, novels and video films. It opens everyday from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.

Sports Souvenir Shop

Sauna and Massage

There is a sauna and erotic massage outfit for males and females. The female sauna offers additional services like pedicure and manicure. The sauna is opened everyday from 11:00am to 6:00pm

Gymnasium

There are two gymnasiums for use by members. One in the squash section and the other in the main house. This is run by a third party and members have to pay separately for this service.

Business Centre

The club has a Business centre situated near the main entrance of the club for use by members only. The centre offers the following services:
