Nigerian–born Khurarai is founder of the exclusive makeup line and the makeup boutique concept that both bear her name.
The lady Obama Lipstick, which she says is “Sure to unleash the first lady in you”, is a soft red product. It is described as the perfect colour for all women. Khuraira’s portfolio features name such as US Ambassador to the UN, Dr Susan Rice, Brandy, Mandy Moore, Cher, Christie Alley, CBS News Andrea Stassou and producer of hit Broadway show, hair, Wendy Federman.
Yet, her fame and successes today are a sharp contrast with her humble beginnings in an Orphanage in the small town of Jos, Nigeria. Indeed, the story of her complete turnaround in fortunes from childhood re-echoes the power of faith and ambition.
Now, she says her inspiring experience makes her feel humbled, grateful and obligated to give back. “I believe the world will never be flawless unless each needy child is fed and cared for”.
And one of her give – back avenues is the Breast Cancer Network of strength, to which she donated 20 percent of all proceeds from the sale of the $20 Lady Obama Lipstick.
