British Airways rewards its outstanding Nigerian trade partners

LEADING airline, British Airways once again took time out to honour its Nigerian trade partners with awards and prizes, at a dinner held in Lagos recently.

The annual event, known as the British Airways Trade Awards, saw the airline playing host to a cross-section of its agents from around the country to show appreciation for their support and reward the best performing travel agents.

Some of the award categories were: Highest Overall Revenue, Most Improved Agent, Premium and Non-Premium Champion, Retail Star and Corporate Star.

Top British Airways officials, Mr. Ademola Sanya, Miss Lolade Balogun and the Regional Commercial Manager for Africa, Mr. Ian Petrie, who was in Nigeria specifically for the event, presented the awards. First Class and Club World return tickets to London were also given to winning agents.

Petrie said the event was an opportunity for the airline to bond and interact with its partners, as well as foster networking opportunities amongst those present. He expressed pride at the cordial relationship between the airline and its trade partners since its debut in the country over 70 years ago and noted that such support has helped to deliver an excellent level of service to Nigerians.

BA’s Acting Commercial Manager for Nigeria, Mrs Adetutu Otuyalo used the occasion to reiterate the advantage of BA’s new initiative known as On-Business. She explained that the package, a global loyalty programme designed for small and medium-sized businesses, would maximize travel budgets and afford corporate organisations that travel often the opportunity to save money on flights.

Recipients of some of the awards included Yone Travels, Silhouette Travels, HRG Nigeria, AeroLand Travels, All State Travels and TouchDown Travels, amongst others.
