Foreign investors to develop tourism with N2bn in Ekiti State

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has held meetings with foreign investors in a bid to develop the economy of the state.

To this end, some investors from the island nation of Bahamas have agreed to bring investment worth N2bn into the state’s tourism sector.

The governor is currently on a two-week business tour of the United Kingdom, Europe and Bahamas, where he has held useful investment meetings with members of the international community and other agencies interested in the development of Ekiti State.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Yemi Adaramodu, disclosed these on Saturday while featuring on “Ekiti Today,” a personality interview programme on the radio and television channels of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State.

Adaramodu disclosed that the investors were impressed with the presentation of the state government officials, led by Fayemi, and had indicated their willingness to invest in the state’s tourism sector.

The COS said the investment would transform the Ikogosi-Ipole-Iloro-Erijiyan-Okemesi tourism corridor and bring foreign exchange into the coffers of the state government.

He said Fayemi was particularly concerned about the Ikogosi Warm Springs, located in Ikogosi-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area, which the administration had resolved to develop to international standards to attract holidaymakers from all parts of the world.
