FEATUES & FACILITIES

Kwa Fall:

Kwa falls is a spectacular waterfall located in a narrow, steep gorge on the headwaters of the Kwa River, where it cascades down resistant basement rocks. A deep plunge pool forms at the bottom of the waterfall, which, before deforestation, was hidden under the thick canopy of the tropical rainforest.

Agbpkim Waterfalls:

Located some 15km from town, this waterfall is actually on the Cross River, where it descends in terraces, through the tropical rainforest. The falling sheet of water is indeed spectacular.

Zoological Garden:

The national park has a mini zoological garden for some species of animals that are rarely found in the country.

Establishment of the zoo has largely helped in preserving some rare species from extinction.  The garden provides an avenue to visitors to see some rare animals they may never have thought existed.

Sight Seeing:

The park presents an amazing sight seeing you might have never seen before. It has been termed as the African "Amazon Forest" by the visitors and fun seekers.

Bird Watching:

With over 350 bird species recorded in this still vastly underexplored park, the park is one of the most ornithologically diverse sites in Nigeria. It is one of only two Nigerian localities for Phyllastrephus xavieri.

Other nationally uncommon species include Macheiramphus alcinus, Spizaetus africanus, Guttera pucherani, Canirallus oculeus, Cercococcyx olivinus, Apaloderma aequatoriale, Melichneutes robustus, Criniger chloronotus, Myioparus griseigularis and Malimbus racheliae.
