The result of United States presidential election is out and President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated Donald Trump on being elected as the 45th US President. He also congratulated the citizens of US, which they closely observed and participated on the election.
Buhari said he looks forward cooperating with President Trump to fortify the effectively settled relations between both nations, including participation on numerous common foreign strategy needs, for example, the battle against terrorism, peace and security, financial development, justice, democracy and great administration.
It has been seen by many as a major upset and unexpected result as real estate businessman and former reality television host Donald Trump of Republican Party successfully overpowered his opposition Hillary Clinton of Democratic Party.
The margins of votes were too close and it seemed as if Hillary Clinton will win the majority of vote, with almost full support from California. But all her effort was in vain, as she was overpowered by Donald Trump in the overall calculation of votes. Mr. Trump managed to secure 279 electoral votes compared to Ms. Clinton’s 218.
“As Mr. Trump gets ready to take on the position of the President of the United States, Buhari extends his great wishes to him on the burdensome undertaking of driving the world’s most grounded economy,” Buhari added.
