The new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye, on Sunday guaranteed Nigerians that Donald Trump’s administration would not disturb the U.S.-Nigeria’s long-existing relations.
Mr. Enikanolaiye told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that there was no requirement for Nigerians to be disturbed over Mr. Trump’s administration.
The enduring secretary communicated confidence that the long existing relations amongst Nigeria and the U.S. would be reinforced in the years ahead.
“We don’t believe that Donald Trump’s administration would prompt to a disturbance in the relations amongst Nigeria and the United States.
“The United States and Nigeria have had great relations since the achievement of Nigeria’s Independence.
“Also, under each administration in the U. S, whether Republican or Democrat, we have dependably had heartfelt relations.
“Thus, we don’t believe that these effectively existing relations amongst Nigeria and the U.S. would essentially be adjusted under the U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump,” he said.
The permanent secretary, notwithstanding, said that Nigeria would not be innocent to be gotten unprepared by any future inevitabilities.
He said that in front of consequences, his Ministry would on Monday hold a unique withdraw in Abuja, to ponder on some of Trump’s talking points amid his crusades.
“Given the President-elect’s talking points amid his battles and decision, we would not be gullible not to plan for these consequences.
“This withdraw would give major remote strategy partners the chance to ponder on what Trump has said and prompt government on how best to react to this,” he said.
Mr. Enikanolaiye reviewed that Nigeria had astounding relations with the organisation of the active president Barrack Obama in various territories, including monetary ties, developing of Nigeria’s majority rules system and different zones.
